I finally arrived in South Korea the “Land of the Morning Calm,” and I love it! It didn’t take me long to embrace the “Palli Palli” (quickly, quickly) culture, which gives you access to everything on mobile apps. This past year I have been following eco fashion and startup trends in France and Europe, but I knew I needed a change, so I packed it up and moved to Asia. I know crazy right? Well not so fast, Seoul is one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world, with a hot startup tech scene and population that loves fashion. What else do you need? Seoul’s fashion conscious have to keep up with trends that change as often as you breathe air, which makes their fashion designers innovate in order to compete.
In recent years, the Seoul government has increased its funding for smart city initiatives with a sustainability focus. As a result, some local fashion designers are following suit by creating eco products with success as the public interest in where and how something is made grows.
